Aflofarm Pine Compositum Syrup
This OTC medicine comes in the form a syrup. It is indicated for symptomatic treatment of dry, nagging cough in upper respiratory tract infections.

Active substance
15 ml of syrup contains: 1283.1 mg of pine extract (Pini extractum fluidum) DER 1:0.9-1.1 extractant: ethanol 96% (v/v), 194.4 mg of anise tincture (Anisi tinctura) DER 1:4, 5-5.5 extractant: ethanol 70% (v/v), 9.72 mg of codeine phosphate (Codeini phosphas hemihydricus). Excipients with known effect: 15 ml of syrup contains 1329.6 mg of ethanol and 120 od saccharose.
Indications
Symptomatically to treat unproductive, dry, nagging cough in upper respiratory tract infections.
Contraindications
This medicinal product should not be used in:
- patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients,
- patients suffering from bronchial asthma or prone to suffer from bronchospasms or acute respiratory insufficiency, - patients addicted to opioids,
- patients suffering from chronic constipation,
- paediatric patients under 12 due to the increased risk of experiencing severe or hazardous to life adverse reactions,
- pregnant or lactating women, patients diagnosed as CYP2D6 ultra-rapid metabolisers.
