Additional information
At the beginning of treatment with Envil cough syrup, excess liquid secretions (phlegm) may be discharged into the airways. In such case, induce coughing to remove the phlegm. Excess mucus may sometimes have to be removed mechanically by suction. Visit your doctor to perform this procedure.
Active substance
5 ml of syrup contains 15 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride (Ambroxoli hydrochloridum).
Indications
For use as a complementary drug in the treatment of chronic and acute airway infections such as emphysema, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, bronchitis and laryngitis causing difficulty expectorating (coughing up) thick bronchial secretions (phlegm).
Contraindications
Talk to your doctor pharmacist before taking Envil cough junior:
- if you have gastric and/or duodenal ulcers;
- if you have impaired kidney and/or liver function;
- if you have impaired cough reflex (difficulty coughing up phlegm) or bronchial cilia dysfunction due to the possible retention of secretions;
- if you have bronchial asthma as ambroxol may initially intensify cough and cause excessive expectoration of secretions.
