Aflofarm has been a partner of the Farm @ Bio project organized by the Medical University of Lodz. Within its scope are implemented, among others. training, workshops, project activities and study visits. The first meeting is behind us. The project is long-term and its completion is planned for 2019. The main aim of the project is to increase the competencies of students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences and Postgraduate Education. The project aims at the best preparation of students for the last two semesters, to enter the labor market. It was created in response to the needs of society, the labor market and the knowledge economy. Such preparation can be ensured, inter alia, by direct contact with leading pharmaceutical companies, says prof. dr hab. Ewa Balcerczak, project coordinator from Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Lodz. The first part of the project is already behind us. Students could attend lectures. "Organization of work in the development laboratory, practical aspects of drug formulation", which was conducted at the premises of the Medical University of Lodz and at Aflofarm. After the lectures students had the opportunity to test their knowledge in practice. The company organized trips for project participants who had the opportunity to visit the modern laboratory of the development branch in Pabianice. On Aflofarm's side, he drank the farm with his students. Marek Dąbrowa, a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, who on the basis of his own knowledge and experience presented the students with professional development opportunities in a pharmaceutical company. Projects such as Farm @ Bio, which are implemented at the junction of science and business, are needed because they allow students to see for themselves how they work in a pharmaceutical company. As one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Poland, we are well aware of the need for close cooperation with the academic community. Medical Universities are a source of talents - young ambitious people who often choose to join our company, says Hanna Wahl, Development Director at Aflofarm Farmacja Polska Sp. z oo. All activities carried out within the project are free of charge. All students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences and Postgraduate Education of the Medical University of Lodz can participate in the project, after a positive transition of the recruitment process. More information about the project can be found at https://farmabio.umed.pl/index.html. The project is co-financed by the European Union under the Operational Program Knowledge, Education and Development.
